According to OpenSecrets, Barack Obama received $994,795 in contributions from Goldman Sachs and Goldman Sachs gave Democrats $4,463,788 during the last congressional election in 2008.

Democrats received 75% of the total Political contributions from Goldman Sachs yet, Obama blames the Republicans for the fiscal crisis created by the Democratic controlled Congress in 2008. Will Obama and his Democratic controlled Congress blame Republicans for the Democratic Deficit Crisis of 2009 and 2010?

Although Goldman Sachs claims they paid back their $10 billion TARP Bailout, the Wall Street giant issued $28 billion in unsecured low-interest loans backed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. If the Bank defaults on its debt, the FDIC guarantees timely principal and interest payments.

The Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program gave Goldman Sachs a free AAA rating and access to virtually free money leaving us with the tab if something goes wrong. The guarantee will terminate on the earlier of an opt-out date, the maturity of the debt, or June 30, 2012.

During the first quarter of 2010, Goldman Sachs earnings almost doubled that of 2009: $3.46 billion, or $5.59 a share, a 91% increase in profit ($1.81 billion or $3.39 a share for the same period in 2009).
