Obama’s Mess: Silence Like A Cancer Grows

“I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.” –President Obama demanding silence at a rally for Virginia’s Governor R. Creigh Deeds which aired on C-Span, August 7, 2009.

And in the naked light surrounding Obama, I saw
Ten thousand people maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared

Disturb the sound of silence…

“The Sounds of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel, 1964

Which Mess is Obama talking about?

Did Obama conveniently forget the Mess of the Fannie Mae Mortgage Crisis which began with the Billary Clinton Administration?

Did Obama conveniently forget the Mess created by the Democratic Congress when the Democrats took over the Congress in 2007?

Did Obama conveniently forget the $12 Trillion Deficit Mess created by the Democratic Congress.

Did Obama conveniently forget the Stimulus Mess he helped to create? The Stimulus Mess has stimulated his special interests, grew government, and done too little to end the recession while the unemployment rate continued to rise.

Did Obama conveniently forget the Mess he has created by nationalizing private companies and his Cash for Clunkers Program?

Did Obama conveniently forget the Medicare Mess created by Congress?
Unrestricted government (euphemism for Taxpayer) subsidized healthcare increased the cost of healthcare and taxes for everyone. For example, the government estimated the hospital insurance portion of Medicare would cost $5.5 billion yet, the actual cost was more than four times that amount — $25.6 billion and this was for 1980 only. Twenty-three new taxes were enacted in the first 30 years of Medicare to cover the cost of government growth(1).

Did Obama conveniently forget the Mess he wants to create with his Universal Healthcare Bill, H.R.3200 aka ObamCare?

Who will clean up Obama’s Mess?

Background

On February 19, 1964, the lyrics of “The Sounds of Silence” song was written by Paul Simon to capture the emotional trauma felt by many Americans after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.

Ironically, Paul Simon’s visionary song appears to capture the spirit of President Barack H. Obama’s Fishy Disinformation.

Lyrics

Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turn my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
No one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

“Fools,” said I, “you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you”
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said “The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound of silence

  1. I just want to hug hug hug you …….

“Here is the place I come to see rational thinking”!
    Excellent thoughts / links Moneypenny

    • Hi Senator Eric “Speedcat Hollydale,”

Thank you and a big DD (Debbie Dolphin) Mp hug to you.

After hearing the American ‘Savior’ speak for 20-minutes, Obama hasn’t revealed the true nature of his H.R.3200 Obamacare Bill. Sadly, Obama and his Democratic Congress have NO R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for the American people.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. = Recognizing Everyone and Showing People Esteem, Consideration, and Trust.

  2. All obama will do is outsource anyways. Just think about the all the lobbyists flocking to Washington DC because of obama’s reckless over-spending of $2 TRILLION in just 6 months, which alone is increasing the National Debt by 20%.

Politicians take people’s money and reward the large corporations, in this case companies in the health care industry, since they have the money to more effectively lobby politicians. In the end smaller businesses will be hurt.

Politicians will only reward companies that will be in their best political interest. Honestly, when can you really trust politicians since they are basically professional liars, and being president just means you are the best liar of the time. Why not just give the money directly from the people to the companies and take politicians in government out of the equation?

obama is going to recklessly spend TRILLIONS of tax payers’ money just to give insurance to about 25% of those who do not have it. Over 50% of people’s income go towards taxes, just imagine how many more people will afford health care insurance if their income is almost doubled because of dramatic tax cuts.

Competition is what is needed. It lowers prices of products and services, along with developing new innovations. All of which will benefit consumers. You need to remember that monopolistic tendencies can also apply to government.

The reason why the cost of insurance is high is because politicians in government mandate insurance companies to increase their premiums to pay for ridiculous things. In addition, politicians put up regulations so that Americans are not allowed to get insurance from another state and use the coverage in their own state. This reduces competition making it more expensive for people to get insurance. On top of that medical professionals are not allowed to freely practice their profession in any US state without taking a long and tedious licensing process. This again increases the cost of medical insurance.

In the end, the problem with most economic issues is too much government intervention of the economy by politicians, who will only tend to do things for political self interest. Just like how obama nationalized GM to pander to its unions. Politicians can barely run government, yet people think they can run a multi-national auto manufacturing company?

The solution is SMALLER government, LESS spending, and LOWER taxes.

      Hi Sammy,

Thank you for visiting and commenting.

Like Corporate Welfare, ObamaCare will create Healthcare Insurance Welfare funded by the Taxpayers.

I agree that we need a limited government that is debt-free and governed by the original Constitution as created by our Founding Fathers before Obama’s socialist growth of government destroys the free market and our freedoms.

Americans need to elect Statesmen like Ron Paul not Politicians whose interests are their self-interest and special interests.

  3. Yeah. Um… that sure IS a mess. But who WILL clean it up? And where do we even begin?

    • Miss Moneypenny

      Hi Meleah,

The simple answer is We the People need to elect Statesmen not Politicians to restore our Constitutional Republic.

For example, consider the intrusion of government into healthcare has increased our medical costs using my history of average annual health costs (couldn’t locate a national average online).

      Medical Expenses Chart

Health Care = Doctor plus Patient
1980 = $25 per Office Visit, $23 per week Hospital Insurance = $1496 per year
      1990 = $30 per Office Visit, $26 per week Hospital Insurance = $1712, 14.4% Cost Increase

Health Care HMO = Doctor plus Patient plus HMO determines Access to Benefits
      2000 = $15 Office Visit Copay, $48 per week HMO = $2676, a 56.3% Cost Increase
      2009 = $15 Office Visit Copay, $64 per week HMO = $3508, 31% Cost Increase

Note: For comparison, my yearly medical costs uses 12 office visits per year and does not include the cost of prescriptions.
      __________________________

When HMOs became mandatory for employees, healthcare costs skyrocketed (56.3% Cost Increase) and the quality of medical care plummeted (the HMOs determine what insurance benefits they will pay for).

ObamaCare (H.R.3200) adds more government control which can only increase our medical costs not lower our medical costs as noted by Douglas W. Elmendorf, director of the Congressional Budget Office.

Hopefully, this real life example reveals that we have high quality affordable medical insurance in the FREE market and poor quality high cost medical insurance in the market of Obama’s Government Monopoly?

Footnote: the Liberals introduced the nightmare of Health Maintenance Organization (HMOs) to control our health insurance:

“We need legislation which reorganizes the system to guarantee a sufficient volume of high quality medical care, distributed equitably across the country and available at reasonable cost to every American. It is going to take a drastic overhaul of our entire way of doing business in the health-care field in order to solve the financing and organizational aspects of our health crisis. One aspect of that solution is the creation of comprehensive systems of health-care delivery.” – Senator Ted Kennedy introduced the HMO Act of 1973

And a conservative President signed the HMO Act of 1973 into Public Law 93-222:
“the Health Maintenance Organization concept is such a central feature of my National Health Strategy. The administration had already authorized, without specific legislative authority, $26 million for 110 HMO projects. That same year, the U.S. Senate passed a $5.2 billion bill permitting the establishment of HMOs “to improve the nation’s health-care delivery system by encouraging prepaid comprehensive health-care programs.” – Richard “Tricky Dick” Nixon, December 29, 1973

  4. That is a lot of mess to take care of.. Hmm.. I am not really into politics because it’s just such a messy and touchy subject, but I did enjoy the song as well as it’s alternative.. 😀

Happy MM Miss Moneypenny, here’s to a future without worries! 😀

    • Miss Moneypenny

      Hi Ane,

Hopefully, my satirical discussion of politics is viewed as a neutral position to present the facts that Obama doesn’t want u.s. to know. Our founding fathers never intended politics and political parties to be created to divide Americans against each other.

Hopefully, Obama will not be successful in silencing our Freedom of Speech.
Apparently, modern Politicians have conveniently forgotten to uphold the U.S. Constitution and run a government that has a debt-free budget and protects our natural freedoms and liberties.

I believe our Founding Fathers were correct to limit the power of government to ensure the freedom and liberty of all Americans for a future without worries.

      Happy Music Monday 🙂
