Apparently, Speedy Roostercat was burned by Barry’s Bailout. A Twitterville rumor claims Barry’s Stimulus Package went kaput as it trickled down to the Barnyard Baron.

(3) Based on my twitter timeline metric, the average tweet is visible for 20 to 30 seconds to followers before disappearing into the Black holes of Twitter whereas Blog posts are visible to rss readers for weeks and online searchers indefinitely as long as the post or Blog hasn’t been deleted.

Currently, Twitter’s default search only allows one week of tweets to be searched. There are other tweet search engines that may be more powerful yet, Twitter has many black holes in their timeline. For example, Twitpic photos are sucked into Black holes on Tweetdeck but the photo is displayed in web browsers. Frequently, Tweet replies are not displayed on the Twitter timeline and tweets are not posted on their hash tag streams.

Bottom line: no matter how powerful your Twitter search engine is, you may never find the tweet you need to ReTweet for your social network whereas Blog post links can be found fairly quickly.
